Luis Eduardo
Luis first embarked onto his percussion journey with a “Ritual Trommeln” ensemble in Berlin in 2018. Djembé was The Drum of Choice of The Shaman for the weekly sessions, often reaching deep into dawn.
He became moved by the power of the Djembé when first witnessed a Ghanian Master spread Her Word—the Djembés, not his, as part of a “Vollmond Trommeln”—a flavour of Ecstatic Dance celebrated with live percussion ensembles, exclusively under full moon’s ligvht
Luis decided to expand his percussion awareness by taking Drum lessons from Drummer and Composer Boris Bell—The Shaman.
After 18 Months, Luis joined the Fanny Hensel Musikschule under the direction of Michele Leisbach, taking part on a musical ensemble for a concert in Winter 2020/2021.
Passionate about dark textures and heavy grooves, he co-founded a project that entwined his Colombian roots with the Armenian bass lines of his beloved friend Daron Kreuzer. These arrangements were, after years in the making, become crushed by the Impending Doom sound waves played by “Matze” on his Gibson SG. The recording sessions of our beloved creature are still pending publication.
Love brought Luis to Scotland in November 2024. Ever since, he has been eager to expand on the community that he so fondly cherished in 2018.
In his non-musical-shamanic journey, he is a Software Engineer with 14 years of experience building distributed systems for enterprise and startups in Germany. He now works for the “Fundación Dinero y Conciencia” in Latinamerica, building the digital infrastructure of what Joan Antoni Melé has termed “the new economy”.
